Packrafting is a combination of backpacking and rafting. While following a beautiful route through nature, you carry the lightweight boat (packraft) in your backpack. When you reach the river or lake, you fill the packraft with air and paddle on.
A packraft is an ultralight, inflatable boat. It stands out because of its power. You can make the packraft so small that you can carry it in a backpack.
We hire out ready-made sets; these sets include:
- Alpacka packraft
- 4-part paddle
- Lifejacket
- Dry backpack
- Fastening straps
With this complete set, you can start your packraft adventure.
Packrafts originated in Alaska, where packrafts are mainly used to cross large bodies of water in the wilderness while hiking.
You get a Raft Inflation Bag that you inflate like a lazybag. Six scoops of air and squeeze it into your raft and the raft is inflated! With the right technique, this takes 5 minutes.
The packrafts are available from 12 years or a minimum body height of 1.50 metres.
The equipment is delivered clean to the hirer. We expect the packrafts to be returned clean & dry.
If necessary, take out insurance for the rented items. Should you have travel insurance check this. Most travel insurance policies usually have extremely limited cover for 'inflatable boats'.
